Duit Angpow

Chinese New Year is one of the most anticipated events for me as everything is officially on the shut down mode. Longer holiday, quiet office (80% of my colleague is Chinese) and extremely smooth traffic in Klang Valley among the 'special affair' that I fancy for.  Best of all, it's time for me to get together with bunch of awesome Chinese friends where we will all gather just for laughter and fun.  In fact, we only meet each other only once a year for the past 9 years.

Raiyyan and Erin happily enough to collect the red packets as fondly known as ang pow - lots of them! With the money, this year Erin decided to get her a bicycle while Raiyyan wanted to keep menabung.  As two of them being very competitive, Erin has started thinking on how to get back all the money as much as before.  Here's the marketing strategy. 'Erin nak suruh nyayi (her gramma nama manja) buat kuih lepas tu Erin nak jual'. She began to sing '3 singgit 3 singgit 3 singgit 3 singgit' tune macam orang jual ikan kat pasar.  'Eh 4 singgit lah cepat sikit habis. 4 singgit 4 singgit'.  Then I said bagi free je lah lagi cepat habis. Then she objected 'kalau bagi free tak dapat duit lah' Hemm smart girl indeed.  We asked 'Erin nak jual kat mana kuih ni?'  She proudly said 'kat office Daddy lah' huhu.... 

Raiyyan and Erin would like to wish all Chinese friends a happy and prosperous CNY 2012.  Hope that the year of dragon would usher in greater peace and harmony. so that we can run, jump and play without fear. Peace y'll!

Anugerah Juara Lagu ke 26

AJL 26 was simply awesome!  Even though our favorite songs didn't make to the top 3, we enjoyed Alyah Kisah Hati and Aizat Sungai Lui performances.  So far, we have been to Stadium Bukit Jalil since AJL 20, kind of yearly event for us. Thanks to Media Prima for the VIP tickets.  I'm not going to comment further on AJL here but more on the behind the scene how we need to get the 'permission' from our 2 Highness, Raiyyan and Erin, to go to AJL without them.  Well, we broke the news about the event on that Sunday evening, Erin said 'no Mommy you cannot go, kalau Mommy pergi jugak kita jangan jumpa lagi!' Alamak ni dah jadi kisah anak buang mak ni.  Then I said, it won't be nice as people have given the tickets but never show up.  Then Raiyyan commanding 'mana ticket tu, Raiyyan nak buang kat toilet bowl lepas tu flush sebelum tu Raiyyan berak sekali!'  Oh nooo, we quickly hide the tickets takut nanti dia betul-betul flush haha.  Well, that's our kids who love us like nobody else would.

Lemas

It's school holiday, yeah!!! But Mommy and Daddy didn't have a plan for you guys as our traveling saving dah kering kontang dek recent Europe trip. Well, 2 months at home just watching TV and playing computer games kesian la pulak.  Then we off to Bukit Gambang Water Park Kuantan on impulse decision. Orang ramai giler huh! It was crammed full until water pun tak nampak.  Kind of regret though.  Since we were there, just enjoy the moment then.  One of the adult rides that I wanted to experience is called Crystal Slides which filled with twists and turns.  Most of adult slides require minimum height of 110cm and Raiyyan is 120cm.  Just nice for Raiyyan and myself as daddy to take care of Erin who is short by 5cm.  Both of us sat in a double float - Raiyyan in front of me. Off we went, hurray! It was not for long ... unanticipatedly Raiyyan flew off from the float then followed by me! Bang Bung Bang Bung both of our heads knocked the slide wall.  At that painstaking moment, I think of nothing except my son! Ya Allah, 4 feet pool of water waited for him down there, jangan la dia lemas hope I can catch instantly as soon as he touched the water.  And yes, I did manage to pull him out of the water and while hugging him dearly I said 'Sorry Raiyyan, sorry Raiyyan'.  He was about to cry and said kalau Mommy tak tau naik jangan la ajak Raiyyan.  Yes, I won't anymore!  Balik je KL, both of them got high fever for more than a week, blood test confirmed that a lot of bacteria in their body.  I guess the water was too dirty...

Nak pergi taman, nak pergi taman jugakkk

Erin just simply loves playground especially the swings.  If it is possible hari-hari dia nak pergi taman but the adults malas la nak pergi with her as it is quite a walking distance.  One fine day, she tergedek-gedek keluar rumah. I asked, Erin nak pergi mana? She said nak pergi taman. Eh Erin nak pergi sorang-sorang ke, nanti Erin hilang macam mana? And she said... ye nak pergi sorang-sorang, Erin tak kan hilang sebab 'SATU' Setia Alam ni kenal Erin tau!
